Understanding the City’s Public Realm with Publica

Event Type
Workshop
LFA Location
City of London
Audience
This event is for Everyone

Led by urban design experts Publica, this workshop explores the evolving public spaces of the City of London.

With over ten years of experience shaping the Square Mile - through initiatives like Area Strategies and the Eastern City Cluster’s Public Realm Vision - Publica offers a unique perspective on how the City functions and transforms.

The event includes a detailed presentation that examines the past, present and potential future of the City’s public realm, reflecting broader societal trends and commercial demands. Following this, a guided walking tour invites participants to critically observe key urban interventions. Attendees are encouraged to question what works, what doesn’t and whose needs are being met or overlooked.

The event blends expert insight with public participation, offering planners, architects, students and curious citizens a rare opportunity to engage with the processes shaping London’s urban landscape. Ultimately, it underscores that the City’s future public spaces are a shared responsibility.
