In the UK today, tea-drinking culture is a celebration of global influences. Much like the influx of flavours, architectural practices from abroad are constantly shaping our built environment. Past and present stories of migration give us the tools to make our cities more inclusive and representative of the multicultural communities they serve.

The Young Trustees believe in the power of collective-voice shaping a more equitable environment for all. Through our initiative, we intend to amplify the stories of local migrant and diasporic individuals, showcasing their significance to our industry in the face of adversity.

Visitors are invited to engage with an interactive installation, sharing lived experiences of migration and celebrating local stories from their community. By creating a space for conversations over tea, we hope to broaden the ways we design our homes, public spaces and cities by learning from immigrant and diasporic perspectives.
